Aesthetic surgery is non-life saving surgery and the decision

to undergo any surgery should not be taken lightly.

I am a firm believer in the Patient Safety Diamond proposed by Professor Foad Nahai, who was the president of our international plastic surgery society ISAPS. In 2010 he proposed 4 factors that were required for safe aesthetic surgery:

Patient: A good candidate for the procedure
Procedure: Appropriate for the patient
Surgeon: Qualified and experienced in performing the procedure
Surgical setting: Safe with trained personnel & emergency procedures in place
